Mindfulness 101

 

4-WEEK COURSE | CEUs AVAILABLE | IN PERSON or REMOTE

This is a 4-week program (each class is 75 minutes) where participants are offered guided instruction in the basic elements of mindfulness meditation. This course is an ideal entry point for anyone who has an interest in learning meditation in a relaxed environment. Each class will include guided sitting meditations, guided movement, experiential exercises, and group discussions. You will receive homework, recordings, and access to practice materials for home practice. No previous experience is necessary to join!

Class Structure and Commitment:

  • Four weekly classes, approximately 1.5 hours each

  • Daily home practice assignments for 30 - 45 minutes each day

  • You must be willing to make a strong commitment to attend all classes and to practice daily home assignments for four weeks

 
 
  • Introduction to mindfulness practices, including mindful breathing, mindful eating, and the body-scan.

  • This week, we will explore how you can bring greater awareness to moments of automatic habitual stress reactions. We will take a deeper dive into mindful breathing and learn other practices, such as mindful movement.

  • This week, we will bring awareness to habitual styles of thinking and reacting and explore options for responding with greater mindfulness and spaciousness. We will deepen and enrich all the mindfulness practices you have learned so far.

  • In this last session, we review and practice all of the mindfulness practices you’ve learned and will focus on how to carry your mindfulness practice forward.
